Trinity Food Ministry
Over 40 years ago, responding to the need of those in the Central
West End who were without food, Trinity began providing food
assistance to our neighbors in need. Begun as a program which
provided emergency food, Trinity now has a weekday food pantry three
days a week and a hot lunch program which serves a Sunday afternoon
meal. We receive financial support, donations of volunteer
time, canned and boxed food, clothing and fresh vegetables from
numerous individuals, faith communities, and organizations who
together enable this ministry to continue. TFM is managed by Barbi
Unlike food pantries that require patrons to disclose income and residency information, anyone coming to Trinity for food will be served. We will fill nearly 9,000 requests for food this year. We currently provide cabbage, potatoes, rice, oranges, eggs, and canned meat, vegetables, fruit or soup. A variety of other non-perishable foods are donated and added to the monthly offering. In addition, perishable and non-perishable foods from Whole Foods Market as well as bread donated by St. Louis Bread Company are available. During the growing season, fresh produce from several community and church gardens add to the bounty we can offer. From the food we receive from Whole Foods, we are able to provide a light meal to folks during pantry hours. About 25 people who are under-housed come just for the meal and the sociability of the TFM community.
Laundry soap, cleaning supplies, toilet tissue, hand soap, shampoo, feminine products, tooth brushes and tooth paste are often requested and given when we have them. We also redistribute donated clothing.
An additional aspect of our food ministry is our outreach nurse. Reta Kirk is on hand during pantry hours checking blood sugars, taking blood pressures, consulting with clients about their health issues and educating them about nutritional support.
The Hot Lunch Program
The Sunday Hot Lunch primarily serves people who live near the parish and are able to walk to the church. Each week, a different faith community prepares a hot meal to serve to our guests. Each community determines its own menu designed to serve 100 persons each Sunday.

If you’re looking for an easy way to support the Trinity Food Ministry, we’ve got you covered. We’ve created an account with Amazon’s “Smile” program which gives a percentage of all qualified sales to a designated charity, in this case TFM.
What is AmazonSmile?
AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support your favorite charitable organization every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to your favorite charitable organization.
How do I shop at AmazonSmile?
To shop at AmazonSmile simply go to smile.amazon.com from the web browser on your computer or mobile device. You may also want to add a bookmark to smile.amazon.com to make it even easier to return and start your shopping at AmazonSmile.
Which products on AmazonSmile are eligible for charitable donations?
Tens of millions of products on AmazonSmile are eligible for donations. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages. Recurring Subscribe-and-Save purchases and subscription renewals are not currently eligible.
Can I use my existing Amazon.com account on AmazonSmile?
Yes, you use the same account on Amazon.com and AmazonSmile. Your shopping cart, Wish List, wedding or baby registry, and other account settings are also the same.
How do I select Trinity Episcopal Church when shopping on AmazonSmile?
On your first visit to AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), you need to select Trinity (search for Trinity Episcopal Church Saint Louis, MO—yes, spell out Saint. It’s picky, I guess.) to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. Amazon will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation for us!
How can I make purchases from the TFM Wishlist specifically?
Once you’ve selected Trinity as your charity of choice (you will only do this once—you don’t do that every time you shop), you’ll need to locate the Wishlist Barbi created:
Click “Account & Lists” on the far right at top of your page:
Scroll to the bottom of the page, and under "Lists" click “Wish Lists.”
Click “Your Friends” then enter Barbi’s email as shown and press Enter.
Easy! You’ll see the Wish List for Trinity Food Ministry, and you can not only shop for items that are needed, TFM will also receive a donation as a percentage of the total.
Will TFM only receive donations from shopping from the Wish List?
Nope! Any qualified purchase results in a donation! It doesn’t have to be related to TFM’s Wish List at all.
Thank you so much for your support!
